Provide Sleeping Bag Coats to Unsheltered Homeless San Diegans

While we call on regional elected officials to add more immediately available beds, the need to provide protection and warmth from the elements is critical. As such, the Lucky Duck Foundation has distributed more than 12,500 sleeping bag coats since 2020, including 4,000 during the winter of 2023-2024.

These weather-resistant coats are manufactured by formerly homeless parents and transform into sleeping bags to provide reprieve and protection from the cold pavement. It is the least we can do while we encourage our elected officials to add inclement weather shelter beds.

Please consider donating in support of this effort. All donations are matched up to $1.5 million per year by LDF co-founders Pat & Stephanie Kilkenny.
