Introducing the Lucky Duck Foundation advisory committee

In order to better inform our work, we have established an advisory committee of individuals with lived homeless experience, including youth and seniors, each with their own story and experience of working to put homelessness behind them.

Our investment in new emergency shelter beds for homeless youth

To further our emphasis on addressing youth homelessness, we are pleased to support a new safe haven specifically for homeless youth ages 18-24. This effort adds five critically-needed emergency shelter beds for less than the cost of one government-subsidized hotel room.

Lucky Duck Foundation announces “Share Your Luck Season”

The Lucky Duck Foundation (LDF) today announced its newest initiative, “Share Your Luck Season,” for the next 10 days leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. The purpose is to raise awareness and funds for a variety of ways San Diegans can aid our homeless neighbors while taking advantage of tripling all donations.

Shipwreck – Polinsky Children’s Center and Child Protective Services (County of San Diego)

Polinsky Children’s Center and Child Protective Services are receiving a SHIPWRECK for sending a family of 9 children to the streets. Being between the ages of 2 and 17, these are the same children that these government organizations exist to help. Polinsky is deferring to CPS, while CPS has not filed a claim for two weeks while these children are seeking safe shelter and are being left to fend for themselves. This is a failure we feel needs to be publicized and rectified. San Diego must do better.
