In December, Pat and Stephanie Kilkenny, founders of the non-profit Lucky Duck Foundation, NBA great Bill Walton and others presented checks totaling $1 million to the Helen Woodward Animal Center, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Father Joe’s Villages and the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, Inc. at Petco Park. The funds were raised in late September at the sold out Lucky Duck Foundation Swing & Soiree event. 136 golfers attended the golf tournament at the Santaluz Club and 300 people attended the afterparty and live auction. The theme of the evening was “Dream Big” and attendees did just that helping to raise $450,000. Earlier in the evening, Pat Kilkenny had announced that if the event raised $350,000 he would make up the difference between funds raised and $1 million. The Lucky Duck Foundation was honored to present its largest donations to its beneficiaries to date and hopes to exceed this amount at its next Swing & Soiree set for October 3, 2016.
